This role involves working for one of New Zealand’s most exciting and innovative companies, Eat My Lunch.  Eat My Lunch is a business with doing good at its heart. Give One.  We have now given over 700,000 lunches to Kiwi kids in need.
The role of an EML Driver is to ensure that all our deliveries are completed by certain deadlines every day depending on the type of delivery being made. We rely on our driving force to make sure this happens effectively, within the deadlines assigned to each meal type and with a great customer service attitude.
Our ideal candidates will:

  • Hold a working visa or appropriate residency to work in New Zealand

Key responsibilities
Following all guidelines outlined in the Eat My Lunch Vehicle Use Policy
  • Ensuring all road rules are applied.  There is no exception to this.
  • Delivering Eat My Lunch meals within specified deadlines
  • Ensuring the delivery App vWork is operational at all times
  • Ensuring that all jobs are completed in vWork after each delivery
  • Ensuring that the tracking mechanism is switched on at all times during the course of the delivery process
  • Ensuring all meals are delivered in great condition
  • Supporting other drivers where capacity allows
  • Communicating with the Dispatch Team any issues with the daily deliveries
Appearance / Personal Hygiene
  • Be presentable
  • As this is a physical job, personal hygiene is critical!

Start – ASAP

Hours – Approximately 9.30am – 12.30pm Monday – Friday.  With flexibility when required for early/late deliveries

Working within the Eat My Lunch kitchen team, this role is pivotal in helping to ensure our kitchen continues to keep successfully delivering the most amazing food every time to our customers, so that they keep coming back and supporting Buy One. Give One.

Responsibilities:

Food production

  • Ensure that all Eat My Lunch meals are prepared in line with menu requirements
  • Ensure that all Eat My Lunch meals are prepared within the time restrictions we work to every day
  • Tasting of all meals prepared to ensure they are of the best quality possible.  We want our customers to be blown away every time!
  • Work with the Kitchen Leads to create new recipe options
  • Ensure correct ingredients are used for different dietary types
  • Ensure all Food Control Plan guidelines and requirements are followed at all times and enforced within the kitchen environment
  • Reviewing the final meals prepared visibility to ensure they meet Eat My Lunches presentation standards
  • Have experience of working with Rationale ovens with knowledge of how the technology works for protein cooking requirements
  • Be able to execute last minute changes to menu items with in calm efficient manner
  • Assist with the daily crating and dispatch of all lunches

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent kitchen & knife skills
  • Knowledge of the council’s Food Control Plan
  • Knowledge of dietary types is essential along with the knowledge of what foods are appropriate for each
  • Being able to communicate effectively
  • A minimum of 12 months experience working in a commercial kitchen producing over 1000 meals at a time
  • Current health & safety and food safety knowledge
  • The ability to work under pressure yet still have an eye for consistency and detail, ensuring every meal meets our quality standards
  • The ability to work within a large team of diverse people

Be prepared to – because we all muck in:

  • Put the rubbish out
  • Sweep the floor
  • Wash dishes
  • Jump in a car and deliver lunches to our Give kids
